Australian food packaging designers now have access to a new range of premium paper options from UK papermaker James Cropper, through Australian agent Elof Hansson.

First launched at the Luxury Packaging show in the UK in September, the new Dolcelicious range of premium papers from James Cropper is the bespoke papermaker's first stock range of food contact-approved papers.

Managing director of local agent Elof Hansson, Stephen Hawkes, told PKN the company was delighted to introduce Dolcelicious to the packaging design fraternity in Australia, delivering a new, high-end selection of FSC-certified papers for premium brands that will elevate the packaging experience for consumers.

The papers are manufactured in the UK and are suitable for contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuff in accordance with globally recognised food regulatory standards: [Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 and ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and OHSAS 18001 Standards.]

Dolcelicious was born out of the James Cropper's work with brands using its Tailor Made service, which gives retail brand owners a choice of options to create a unique paper with variables ranging from the individual fibres used to the ways they’re engineered, coloured, converted and embossed.

Richard Burnett, market development manager at James Cropper, said: “We’ve been working on tailor-made solutions for a variety of brands within the food industry for some time and realised there is a growing demand for high-quality coloured papers in this sector.

“There’s a huge appetite to create something unique that stands out in this competitive industry, whether it’s high-end chocolatiers or speciality tea and coffee suppliers. After all, the first bite is with the eye!”

Dolcelicious comes in 11 eye-catching colours, including Lemon Drizzle, Liquorice, Silver Spoon and Kiwi Fizz, with a variety of hues  – from organic, subtle and natural to glamorous, rich and bold.

The paper can also be 'tailored' using embossing patterns to develop distinctive packaging and so create a richer brand experience.
