Ferag is the new distributor of the XSYS portfolio of flexographic printing plates and platemaking equipment in Australia and New Zealand.

According to XSYS customers in the region will be able to benefit from Ferag’s long history and experience in the graphic arts industry, as the company expands its remit into flexo printing and packaging. Ferag will stock and supply nyloflex flexographic plates, nyloprint letterpress plates, as well as nylosolv solvent washout.

General manager of trade at Ferag Australia, Ian Martin, told PKN, “The company’s motivation for taking this appointment was to enter into the packaging market which is a growing market. XSYS is one of the leading developers, with high quality products and a long history of developing new plate technology.”

Martin further commented that there is already a client base in Australia and New Zealand, with customers already using the products, which he says have technological advantages over the competition.

Philip Batty, managing director of Ferag Australia, said, “The opportunity to take on the XSYS portfolio has come at a great time for Ferag, as we continue to move the company forward into new industry segments. Naturally, our main priorities now are to make sure that existing XSYS customers are well looked after, and that the changeover is as seamless as possible.”

Roy Schoettle, regional vice president for Apac XSYS, said, “We are pleased that Ferag will be representing XSYS in this part of the world. The company is well established and a respected supplier in the graphics industry, having looked after both countries over many years with its existing portfolio of products. We feel confident that our customers will profit from a dedicated company that will focus on their needs day-to-day. It’s an exciting time as packaging – and indeed XSYS as a leading supplier to this industry – is growing around the world. Australia and New Zealand are part of this growth.”

Ferag Australia offers solutions for the graphics industry and systems for internal flow, and distributes packaging machines and palletising systems from other suppliers. According to the company it works closely with customers from initial planning, installation, and commissioning through to operator training and after-sales support.
