Konica Minolta Australia, in partnership with global mobile robotics leader Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), is launching two autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) at CeMAT Australia 2025, which runs from 22-24 July at The Dome, Sydney Olympic Park.

The MiR MC250 mobile cobot and the MiR1200 pallet jack will make their Australian debut on stand T18, giving attendees an interactive experience of how these AI-powered systems can transform logistics and production workflows.

The MiR MC250 combines an AMR with a Universal Robots (UR) arm, powered by MiR’s navigation technology, bringing what the company calls true mobility to collaborative robotics.

Key features include:

  • Seamless machine tending and quality inspection capabilities
  • Flexible deployment across multiple tasks and production lines
  • Built-in safety features for close human collaboration
  • Quick redeployment with minimal setup time
  • Ideal for precision handling in space-constrained environments

The MiR1200 is a next-generation AMR designed for high-speed, high-accuracy pallet transport in dynamic manufacturing and warehousing environments.

Key features include:

  • AI-based perception for fast, precise, and reliable pallet detection
  • High-capacity battery with fast charging to support 24/7 operations
  • Compliance with ISO 3691-4 safety standards
  • Payload capacity of up to 1200kg

The company says these new solutions will mark a significant milestone for mobile robotics in Australia, delivering greater speed, flexibility, and safety to businesses embracing automation.

The MiR1350 with shelf lift will also be featured on stand T18. This heavy-duty AMR can transport payloads of up to 1350kg and, as the company says, will showcase the strength and versatility of MiR’s portfolio, all backed by Konica Minolta’s local support and integration expertise.

“We’re excited to bring the MiR MC250 and MiR1200 to Australian shores for the first time,” said Manglesh Jain, robotics business manager at Konica Minolta Australia.

“These solutions offer practical automation that can be quickly integrated into real-world operations. CeMAT is the perfect opportunity for local businesses to see their potential first-hand.”

Masayuki Mase, channel development manager at Teradyne Robotics (parent company of MiR), said both robots represent a new generation of intralogistics automation.

“We’re proud to launch them in Australia in partnership with Konica Minolta and show how they can drive immediate impact for Australian businesses,” he continued.

Attendees are invited to the on-stand live product launch event, to be held on Wednesday 23 July at 10:30am, to explore the full MiR range in action, and connect with automation experts on-site.

In addition to the official launch, Konica Minolta and MiR will host daily group demonstration sessions at 11am, 2pm and 3pm, providing attendees with multiple opportunities to see the new robots in action and ask questions in an open, interactive format.

An imbalance in bargaining power and the need for a mandatory code of conduct are two of the 14 recommendations put forward by Dr Craig Emerson, following his 10-month review of the trade and competition dynamics in the grape and wine sector.

Since starting out as a sustainable bottled water company in 2021, Tasmanian-based Pure Mist has diversified its range. Using water collected from some of the purest air in the world, the company began gin production just after starting out, and is now stepping into the functional beverage market with sports hydration drink, HydraPlay.

Grant Thornton has released its 2025 Manufacturing Benchmarking report, examining the financial data of 100 mid-sized Australian manufacturers. The food and beverage sector continues to stand out, leading in revenue growth across the wider industry.
