Sidel has introduced EvoFILL PET, a filling system for water and still beverages, which the company says is its fastest-ever filler. The system combines fluid-dynamics engineering with a redesigned filling valve and is intended for producers aiming to increase output while reducing space requirements and maintaining product quality and line flexibility.
Sidel says the development responds to pressure on beverage producers to increase output while maintaining hygiene and sustainability standards. It adds that the growth of functional and flavoured water is reshaping the market, with this segment forecast to grow at a CAGR of 3.7 per cent from 2024 to 2028, driven by health awareness, lifestyle changes and rising incomes.
The EvoFILL PET has been designed for still beverages in PET bottles, with a focus on higher filling speeds and a more compact layout.
At the centre of the system is a redesigned filling valve, developed following a fluid-dynamics study to optimise product flow. Sidel says this enables a filling speed increase of up to 20 per cent, with outputs of up to 90,000 bottles per hour in a smaller footprint.
Hygiene has been a key design focus. The system includes a volumetric flowmeter control and a no-contact filling principle, which removes the need to replace components when changing fill levels.
The company says this simplifies operations and supports hygiene across different still beverage types. It also features automatic CIP dummy cups, shorter cleaning cycles, reduced thermal dispersion and fewer surfaces to clean, which it says reduce downtime, water use and chemical consumption.
The EvoFILL PET uses a no-base layout that reduces footprint by up to 15 per cent compared with previous designs. Sidel says this improves line integration and frees up floor space.
It also includes improved access to components such as the external caps buffer and roof HEPA filters, aimed at simplifying maintenance and improving ergonomics for operators.
The system is available in stand-alone, Combi and Super Combi configurations, allowing producers to adapt setups depending on production needs.
“Sidel’s new EvoFILL PET has been engineered to help customers increase output while simplifying operations and maintaining the highest standards of beverage protection, delivering performance without compromise”, says Tommaso Tegoni, product manager filling at Sidel.
“With fast and easy automatic changeovers, the extended lifespan of key components and optimised total cost of ownership, the EvoFILL PET is designed to deliver long-term value alongside high performance.”
