Australian IoT innovator, Binary Beer, has launched its latest generation KegLink sensor – the 5G Smart Keg – tailored for the US market in partnership with Kegshoe, and which aims to streamline the sales, quality and supply chain of draught beer.

The new sensor design supports all stainless keg sizes, including US sixtel, quarter, and half barrel kegs, and features a weld-free attachment for easy on-site installation.

“Our third-generation KegLink shows that Smart Keg technology is ready for rapid global scale,” said Michael Burton, CEO of Binary Beer.

“Our partnership with Kegshoe allows us to support this innovative solution in the US market and beyond, revolutionising the way breweries manage their keg inventory.”

The laser coupler detection enables real-time visibility into what’s on tap, and what’s ready for collection at licensees, optimising sales and distribution.

“The integration of KegLink with the Kegshoe platform provides breweries, distributors and lessors with a comprehensive and seamless keg management solution, improving efficiency and sustainability in a time when it’s most needed.”

Binary Beer sees this milestone as a representation of the continued expansion of Australian-grown smart keg technology into new global markets.

It believes the integration of Kegshoe, a leading Canada-based keg tracking software company, enhances inventory visibility and efficiency for businesses in the beverage industry.

Food & Drink Business

As consumers increasingly focus on better-for-you food and drink choices, opportunities grow for manufacturers to add functional ingredients to existing or new products to meet the demand. Kim Berry reports.

Pure Foods Tasmania (PFT) says its 3Q24 results should be viewed “through the prism of major restructuring” that was focused on “tight capital management, cost reduction, and product rationalisation”. PFT has also announced a capital raise.

Three years after resigning as managing director of Lion Australia, James Brindley is back in the role as the company announces a series of structural and people changes.
