Global flexible packaging and lidding films supplier, KM Packaging, is now a member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO).

KM Packaging engineers reliable packaging solutions for the produce, ambient, chilled and frozen convenience food markets, as well as for confectionery and snacks.

As a member of APCO, KM Packaging has committed to contributing to the aim of achieving the 2025 National Packaging Targets that include:

  • 100 per cent reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging;
  • 70 per cent of plastic packaging being recycled or composted;
  • 50 per cent of average recycled content included in packaging (revised from 30 per cent in 2020); and
  • The phase out of problematic and unnecessary single-use plastics packaging.

“As one of the leading suppliers of flexible packaging to the Australian food industry, we welcome the work of APCO. It is an honour to be a member,” says John Shipley, business unit director of KM Packaging.

“We already provide a number of peelable lidding film structures, which are designed for recyclability. And we look forward to collaborating to help keep packaging materials out of landfill and achieving APCO’s vision.”

KM Packaging has joined more than 1500 other members that share a common agenda – a commitment to reducing the environmental impact of their packaging.
