NBCo, a sustainable solutions provider specialising in fibre materials, has joined the Bottle Collective, an initiative led by PulPac and PA Consulting, to explore Dry Molded Fibre alternatives for the beauty and personal care sector.

“We’re now looking to push both Dry and Wet bottles as part of our portfolio,” said Alvin Lim, CEO and founder of NBCo. “The Bottle Collective is a natural extension of our mission to scale regenerative fibre systems. By combining PulPac’s innovation with our manufacturing expertise, we can broaden what’s possible for fibre bottles and bring circular packaging to more brands around the world.”

The Bottle Collective, which also includes Diageo, Opella (formerly Sanofi), Haleon and Logoplaste, brings together brands and innovators focused on launching fibre-based bottles through shared innovation and collaboration.

“NBCo’s experience in mass manufacture and expertise in fibre materials perfectly complements the Collective’s focus,” said Jamie Stone, design, innovation and sustainability expert at PA Consulting. “Together we’re bridging innovation and industrialisation, driving faster progress toward viable, scalable fibre-bottle solutions.”

The beauty industry produces more than 120 billion packaging units each year, with one-third ending up in landfill and 70 percent of its plastic waste not recycled, according to The Courage to Change Report. The Bottle Collective supports brand owners in transitioning to fibre-based bottles that meet both functional and environmental goals.

“The beauty segment sets high standards for both design and functionality,” said Sanna Fager, chief commercial officer at PulPac. “We need to meet those expectations and offer a scalable alternative aligned with environmental goals.”

Since its formation, the Bottle Collective has developed prototype bottles recognised at London Packaging Week and The Pentawards.

“By uniting expertise across the value chain from materials and design to production and scale-up, we’re moving closer to commercial-ready fibre bottles that meet the highest standards for performance and circularity,” Fager added.
