Huhtamaki Foodservice Packaging Oceania is supporting the national push to reduce household food waste by supplying packaging products designed for circularity, including compostable and recyclable solutions for the foodservice sector.

The company’s offering includes paper coffee cups, FSC-certified multi-ply paper straws, wooden cutlery, napkins and paper towels. Many of these products meet the Australian Standard AS4736 for commercial compostability.

Louise Baker, general manager at Huhtamaki Foodservice Packaging Oceania, said the company aims to provide “packaging solutions built to reduce waste, support sustainability goals, and help foodservice brands stand out”.

The range is targeted at businesses and consumers looking for options that align with national efforts to reduce food and packaging waste. According to the company, all products are designed for circularity either to be reused, recycled or composted.

The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has endorsed a national initiative led by End Food Waste Australia to reduce food waste. Huhtamaki is aligning with the initiative by offering packaging that supports waste minimisation.

Huhtamaki maintains a presence at events such as Foodservice Australia and Fine Food Australia, where it engages with industry stakeholders on sustainable packaging solutions.

Huhtamaki Foodservice Packaging Oceania is part of Huhtamaki, a global packaging group focused on sustainable food packaging.
