This year's Pentawards is now open to packaging designers, brand owners, packaging suppliers and students.

The awards program is dedicated to packaging design, and participants are invited to enter their best creations in 55 categories which are divided into five sectors – Food, Beverage, Body, Other Markets, and Luxury.

The jury will be made up of 12 packaging design and marketing professionals, and bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond awards will be presented at a ceremony on 23 September in Shanghai, China.

Entrants are required to upload five different visuals of their recent creations, and can register here.

The organisers have made a list of seven good reasons to take part in Pentawards:

  1. You'll see your creations crowned with a prestigious award by an international panel composed of 12 packaging design professionals, chaired by Gérard Caron.
  2. You will get your prize in Shanghai.
  3. You will have your winning creations posted on the Pentawards site with a link to your own site.
  4. You will have your winning designs featured in the press throughout the world in many magazines, sites and blogs.
  5. The Diamond Pentaward winner will receive, in addition to their trophy, a multi-year license to Esko's 3D Packaging Design software.
  6. A Sleever International special prize will be bestowed on the best creation in a limited series.
  7. The Platinum Pentaward from the Luxury category will receive a booth at the next Luxepack Fair in Shanghai.

All the winners will be published by Taschen in a book that will be available in 2016.

The last ceremony was held in London in September 2015:
