Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific has now acquired Zhongshan Tiancai Packaging Company, expanding Amcor’s footprint in China to a total of 10 manufacturing plants.

Located in the Guangdong province of Southern China, the acquisition includes one manufacturing plant specialising in printing and manufacturing multi-layer films for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical end markets.

As a result, Amcor will add close to 390 staff with packaging expertise to its team.

Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific president Ralf K. Wunderlich said Amcor was committed to ongoing growth in China.

“As a market leader in flexibles packaging in China, it is also an opportunity for us to build our innovation expertise and product offering,” he said.

Together with the existing plants, Amcor says it will also serve local and multinational customers more broadly.
