Amcor has acquired Canadian container manufacturer Plastic Moulders for $31.7 million.

Amcor says the Toronto-based business has annual sales of about C$35 million (AU$36.9 million) and is at the forefront of new moulding and labelling technology.

The news comes less than a month after Amcor agreed to buy South America-based flexible packaging business Alusa for about AU$570 million.

Also this year, Amcor acquired Deluxe Packages and BPI China, and in 2015 bought Zhongshan Tiancai Packaging Company, Nampak Flexibles and Packaging India Private Limited.

In the final chapter of court action regarding the 2020 collapse of Freedom Foods Group, the Federal Court has found former managing director and CEO, Rory Macleod, breached his duties as a director and officer, and failed to take all reasonable steps to secure the company’s compliance with its financial reporting obligations.
