Global flexible packaging and lidding films supplier, KM Packaging, has confirmed the appointment of Frances Busby in the role of managing director.

Busby took up the position with KM Packaging on 11 July, and her appointment follows KM’s announcement in April that it had become an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

According to former MD Charles Smithson, Busby and KM have shared values of trust, ownership, passion and innovation, and during her very successful career, she has accumulated immense experience in highly customer-focused businesses.

“I am impressed with everyone I have met in the company, and I’m very excited to be given the opportunity to lead the KM team into the future,” Busby said.

The previous directors, Smithson and Graham Holding, will remain with the business and will work alongside Busby in delivering the growth strategy.

Recently, KM Packaging helped New Zealand grower and supplier Best Berries for a packaging solution for its fresh strawberries and raspberries, implementing KM's K-Reseal lidding film, which can be repeatedly opened and resealed to the tray.

KM Packaging also recently delivered a packaging solution for Nonna Tonda’s fresh pasta delivery service, which will now be using the company's C-Bag compostable bags.
