Innonature Packaging Solutions has launched the Suber Sleeve, a protective transit packaging solution made from sustainably sourced cork. By using by-products of cork harvesting, the design gives new life to material that might otherwise go to waste.

Developed as an alternative to plastic-based packaging, the Suber Sleeve is designed to protect wine and spirit bottles during transport while meeting Australia’s 2025 National Packaging Targets, which call for all packaging to be reusable, recyclable or compostable.

According to Innonature, the sleeve is lightweight, moisture-resistant, reusable and home compostable. It stores flat for efficiency in logistics and warehousing, and provides cushioning protection during transit. The company says cork is a naturally renewable material that also supports carbon sequestration and biodiversity. The sleeves are customisable, with branding options available along with a QR code tells the story of cork, circularity and impact.

Manufactured in Portugal under FSC certification, the Suber Sleeve extends the lifecycle of cork while drawing on a long-term renewable supply source. Cork oak trees can be harvested every seven to nine years, up to 17 times during their lifespan.

The product has already gained international traction, with its first retail launch at Dubai Duty Free as part of the retailer’s push for more sustainable packaging options.

Established in 2023, Innonature Packaging Solutions is a female-led company with offices in the UAE, Portugal and Australia. Its focus is on packaging solutions that advance circular economy outcomes and reduce waste across global markets.
