PKN’s popular Women in Packaging event is back, this year in Melbourne.

Theme: Champions of Change: Women Walking the Talk

This year Women in Packaging will include several keynote speakers and a panel discussion, featuring women in our industry who are leaders in the sustainability movement, who are “walking the talk” by pioneering new solutions, developing policies and industry programs, and taking authentic action that will drive true, sustainable change.

1:00PM: REGISTRATION

1.20PM: Lunch served & welcome

1.40 – 2.20PM: Keynote: Sustainability & Consumer Behaviour

Behavioural science strategist Sonia Friedrich shares the fastest ways to change consumer behaviour and gives insight into the latest in research design to tap into the consumer unconscious response.

2.20 – 3.00PM: The road untravelled: pioneering a sustainable path in packaging.

In a Q&A session, we’ll be exploring the incredible stories of two award-winning entrepreneurs,Julia Kay, Co-Founder & Co-CEO Great Wrap and Joanne Howarth, CEO and Founder, Planet Protector Packaging.

In the face of many challenges, both women have harnessed grit, determination and the courage of their convictions to bring innovative sustainable packaging concepts to market, scaling their solutions for commercial uptake, and achieving award-winning recognition along the way. Joanne and Julia will share the highs and lows of entrepreneurship, and give the audience insights into plans for growth and expansion of their respective businesses.

3.00 – 3.20PM: Educating women is key to a sustainable, regenerative future

Cath Cornaggia, Commercial Director, Labels & Packaging Materials ANZ, Avery Dennison, is a passionate advocate for empowering girls and women through education as a means to building smarter, stronger, more resilient communities that can create lasting change.

3.20 – 3.50PM: Collaboration – The cornerstone of closed loop innovation

Sally Carter, Head of Procurement, Brookfarm and Jessica Ansell, Marketing Manager OF Packaging will tell the story behind Brookfarm’s adoption of the award-winning Roll ‘n Recycle mono-material pouch developed by OF Packaging, and how close collaboration played an important role in bringing this development to commercial fruition.

3.50 – 4.30PM: Panel: Women Walking the Talk

The afternoon will end with a panel comprising women who are Women Walking the Talk, taking an active involvement in industry to drive sustainable change. Panellists include Claire Kneller, MD WRAP Asia Pacific; Zaidee Jackson, National BDM – Sustainability, Ball & Doggett; Nerida Kelton, Executive Director, Australian Institute of Packaging. The panel will be moderated by Bindu Panicker, Head of Communications at tna Solutions.
