A food organics and garden organics (FOGO) kitchen caddy made using household recycled soft plastics has been released by Source Separation Systems, in collaboration with iQRenew, in what the companies are saying is a first for this type of bin.

The caddy is produced from a combination of recycled soft plastics and recycled hard plastics collected from kerbside bins. According to iQRenew, the product represents a tangible application for problematic household soft plastic waste, and supports the development of local markets for recovered materials.

The kitchen caddy is being manufactured by Source Separation Systems and is now available to order.

Positioning the product as a tool for councils to demonstrate support for circular procurement, iQRenew said the bin is “more than just a practical product”, and calling it “a great story for councils to support circular procurement, showing leadership in sustainability and innovation”.

The company is encouraging councils to help “continue to build the end market for soft plastics in Australia”. iQRenew also has capacity to process councils' soft plastics through a commitment to buy back products like FOGO caddies, and other products made in collaboration with manufacturers.

Food & Drink Business

If 2025 taught Australian brands anything, it’s that many growth pockets exist throughout an Australian FMCG industry exhibiting patchy performance. Circana insights director Australia, Daniel Bone, discusses what trends the market research company is seeing, and how food and drink brands can come out on top in 2026.

Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) has warned it will take a significant non-cash impairment against its Americas business, with the company preparing to write off at least all US goodwill valued at $687.4 million as at June 2025.

Maggie Beer Holdings (MBH) chair Mark Lindh has used the company’s 2025 AGM to lay out a clearer path for stabilising and rebuilding the business, telling shareholders the group has “earned the right to grow” after a year of intense restructuring, cost-cutting and strategic refocus.
