TIPA Compostable Packaging has added four high-barrier laminates to its portfolio of compostable flexible packaging, with the new products designed for applications including single-serve packets, chips and salty snacks, protein and drink powders, nutraceuticals such as vitamins and gummies, ground coffee, and tea.

The laminates offer moisture and oxygen barrier properties and include both paper and transparent print layers, providing brands with options for functional and aesthetic needs. All films and laminates are compatible with conventional packaging machinery and are printable and sealable.

“With more than 40 per cent of consumer goods packaged in flexible packaging and less than one per cent of these being recycled in the US, there is a need for more brands to choose sustainable options for their products,” said Daphna Nissenbaum, co-founder and CEO of TIPA.

She said the new laminates “offer more products the ability to protect goods and maintain shelf-life with the same durability and longevity achieved by conventional plastic".

“Consumers enjoy the convenience of single-serve packets of everything from powdered drink mixes to their daily vitamins. Now, that convenience does not have to create more waste and brands can continue to deliver the products their customers want, while contributing to a sustainable future,” Nissenbaum added.

TIPA manufactures its films and laminates in Europe, North America, and Australia. Its existing portfolio includes a range of compostable films and laminates for diverse applications.

The company will also be at Pack Expo booth SL-19030.
