Industrial packaging supplier Schütz Australia has received three recent accolades for its contributions to circularity, sustainability and workplace safety in packaging.

At this year’s Australian Coatings Show, Schütz was awarded Best Booth by the Surface Coatings Association Australia. The company used the platform to highlight safety-oriented packaging developments, including a presentation by David Bloomer, new business development manager, on “Packaging for more safety in EX-Zones”.

The session explored how Schütz’s intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) are used in regulated and hazardous environments to enhance safety during the transport and storage of sensitive goods.

The company was also recognised by Fuchs Lubricants Australasia with the Dove Award for Excellence in Sustainability. Schütz is Fuchs’s largest IBC supplier in Australia, supporting the company’s packaging recovery practices and providing regular returns and sustainability reports.

According to Schütz, the award reflects its collaboration with Fuchs on “carbon footprint reduction, use of recycled plastic, and virgin plastic minimisation”, alongside customer education efforts around responsible container returns.

In a third accolade, Schütz recently received Chemistry Australia’s Circular Economy Award for 2025. The award highlights the company’s closed-loop recovery system, including its Ticket Service program which enables customers to schedule collection of used containers. The program operates across approximately 2500 locations nationally and has recovered more than 12,000 tonnes of plastic since 2021.

The recovery of returned IBCs enables Schütz to manufacture its Recobulk IBC which “reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 100kgs per unit compared to newly manufactured containers”.

Schütz said the recognition reinforces its aim to deliver industrial packaging that supports compliance, environmental performance and practical circularity.
