Pringles Minis packs have had their packaging reduced by 10 per cent following a review of the primary bag and outer polybag, aimed at improving material efficiency and reducing plastic use across its portfolio.

Brand owner Mars says the change forms part of its “ongoing commitment to sustainability”.

The update removes excess and unused space in the original format, with product weight and food volume unchanged. The revised packs use 10% less plastic, which the company says will save approximately 30.7 metric tonnes of virgin plastic annually.

The company describes the updated product as delivering the same experience and being “100 per cent snacktastic”.

Ileana Andrei, senior brand manager of salty snacks at Mars said, “Reducing plastic by 10 per cent is a simple but meaningful step in reducing waste, while maintaining the Pringles Minis taste and quality that our consumers know and love.

“Through a detailed review of our packaging, we found ways to remove excess space without changing what’s inside the pack. The result is a simpler design that is just as delicious, delivering the same iconic Pringles Minis, now with less plastic overall.”

The change is part of broader commitments by Mars Incorporated to reduce packaging waste and improve material efficiency across its brands.

The updated packs will roll out in major supermarkets nationwide from mid-May.
