Natures Organics brand My Soda is making waves in plastic waste reduction with its refill system, which is designed to reduce plastic in its packaging by 80 per cent and aims to inspire customers to keep, reuse and refill their haircare bottles.

Now available exclusively at Woolworths, My Soda is the first haircare brand in supermarkets to offer a sustainable refill solution, with all refillable bottles crafted from recycled plastic in Melbourne, Australia. It costs $10 a bottle and $12 a refill. The refill pouches are currently manaufactured offshore.

The brand has also partnered with REDcycle to ensure refill pouches can be upcycled through the return-to-store program at Woolworths, enabling soft plastics to be converted into items such as modern lawn furniture and playground equipment.

“With sustainability at the forefront of consumerism right now, we’re so proud to bring a naturally plant-based, affordable, and trend-inspired haircare brand to Australian consumers, aimed at helping to reduce the environmental impact on our planet,” says Elise Synnot, marketing manager at Natures Organics.

Natures Organics believes in “creating environmentally responsible products of the best quality at affordable prices for all Australians”.

With the company’s commitment to sustainability, its homecare and personal care products are made with the help of solar power, reducing the company’s carbon emissions by over 45,000 tonnes since installation.

By using recycled plastics, Natures Organics has so far saved 1.6 million kilograms of plastic from potential landfill in the last 12 months alone.

My Soda’s vegan shampoo and conditioner range is certified cruelty-free and available in three variants – Smooth, Hydrate and Cleanse. Its plant-based formula is made up of a combination of natural ingredients.
