A roster of high profile speakers from such leading global and local companies as Nestlé, Dell, Microsoft and Woolworths have been confirmed as headline speakers for next month's World Class packaging Conference in Melbourne.

Scheduled for 14-15 November at the city's Hilton on the Park, the conference is dedicated to outlining how, in today’s competitive business environment, cost-effective packaging can play a crucial role in ensuring an organisation’s success.

The conference will present a range of topics and strategies to explain to attendees how to develop cost-effective packaging to improve packaging accessibility, flexibility, durability and sustainability, which in turn will improve customer experience.

Dell USA's director of procurement, Oliver Campbell, will explain the role of sustainability within the packaging supply chain.

“The basics of logistics, graphic design, and product protection are already well covered for today’s packaging professional,” Campbell said.

“What’s next is a greater degree of incorporation for sustainability to ensure packaging is part of a healthy supply chain from sourcing to disposal.”

He will be joined at the conference by the global packaging manager of Microsoft USA, Jeffrey Loth; Woolworths' program manager for grocery, general merchandise and liquor, Shaun Elliott; and packaging specialist at Nestlé Australia, Nina Cleeve-Edwards, among other presenters.

The national president of the Australian Institute of Packaging, Ralph Moyle, will chair the event, which will also feature discussions on new and emerging packaging technologies and solutions in the market in addition to key topics such as benchmarking world class packaging systems, mapping consumer behaviour to develop value added packaging concepts, ensuring food safety and avoiding food contamination through innovation and strategies to enhance packaging life-cycle and control costs from production to shelf.
