The manager of sales and marketing at Visy's automation division, Derek Ford, has rejoined the board of directors of the  Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA).

Ford, based at Visy Automation's head office in Melbourne, returns to the APPMA board  after having previously served on it from 2006 to 2008.

A qualified mechanical engineer, Ford has over fifteen years’ experience in packaging automation, including project delivery, robotics, materials handling as well as high and low speed case erecting and packing systems covering most FMCG sectors.

His return to the board comes as the association, which represents the country's packaging machine manufacturers and suppliers, is poised to celebrate its thirtieth anniversary next year.

The anniversary will also be a major theme of the association's biennial signature event, the AUSPACK PLUS trade show, which returns to Sydney from 7-10 May.
