If you're in the packaging industry and want to know more about the pending alliance between your industry representative body and the Printing Industry Association (PIAA), don't miss the opportunity to hear about the plans directly from Andrew Macaulay, CEO of the Printing Industry Association and David Carter, CEO of the Packaging Council.

On 13 December, at a joint PCA and PIAA members gathering (not the forum originally proposed), Carter and Macauley will shed light on the next steps towards a merged association. The event will be held at Coco Lounge, 93 Kingsway Glen Waverley, VIC from 5pm onwards. There is no charge for the event.

The PCA had previously hoped to stage a forum today (6 December) but this has now been rescheduled for next year, at a date and venue yet to be confirmed.

Members of the industry are invited to voice their questions about the way forward as the associations take steps to merge in 2017.

David Carter said: “This will be a great opportunity to learn what the PCA and the PIAA are working on to provide members and their companies greater opportunity and value in terms of what’s needed in the world our industry operates in.”

"We strongly encourage you to come hear and participate in what plans we have for the future and how we are looking to provide you with a broader set of industry services and greater value proposition," Carter said in a note to PCA members.

“Also it will provide an opportunity to meet industry colleagues over drinks and canapes,” he said.

The meeting is the next step following the recent EGM, where PCA members voted not to close the association, but rather to pursue an alliance with the PIAA.
