Australian food packaging and processing equipment manufacturer tna has launched a new European manufacturing hub in Birmingham, UK.

The factory is its third manufacturing site alongside its existing facilities in its home market of Australia and in China.

The new site underpins a period of international expansion by the local company, which also recently opened an office in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and exhibited at the CFIA 2013 food processing equipment show in Rennes, France.

The company said the Birmingham hub further expands its global manufacturing capability, while providing a logistical base for sales, technical service and project management capabilities in the European market.

“The new site establishes a base closer to our major European customers,” the company said. “And, with all our [European] experts now together in one place, it will also reduce lead-times and further enhance our ability to provide great service.”

It said its Brazil office, meanwhile, would be a used as a base to develop innovations tailor-made for the Brazilian packaging market. It will also have an emphasis on enhanced technical support, sales and related services.

“We’re thrilled to be taking the next step [towards] our objective of being the ultimate global packaging solutions provider,” tna said.

The company has also revealed its plans for the AUSPACK PLUS show in Sydney in May, with its new tna robagFX 3ci high-speed vertical form, fill and seal packaging machine, which was shown at CFIA in  France, set to be the highlight of its stand.

“As an Australian company, we are always delighted to demonstrate our cutting-edge packaging solutions at AUSPACK PLUS, and this year is no exception,” said Luigi di Palma, the general manager of tna Australia.

"The tna robagFX 3ci machine provides up to 30 per cent improvement in performance in both output and reduction in rejects and achieves unprecedented throughput rates of up to 150 bags per minute.

“Visitors will also experience our innovative seasoning system, the tna intelli-flavOMS 3c,” di Palma said.

A complete, one-piece solution for both wet and dry seasoning and flavouring, the tna intelli-flavOMS 3c delivers even coverage at throughput rates of 100kg to 500kg per hour for a wide variety of applications.

Technical experts will also be on-stand to demonstrate the company's roflo3 horizontal motion conveyor, which smoothly distributes goods to minimise losses and breakages.

“We will also be showcasing our controls and integration expertise, demonstrating how our electrical and control system integration solutions can help manufacturers achieve optimum performance in their production lines by reducing inefficiencies and maximising output,” di Palma said.
