TSI Pharmaceuticals has acquired Brisbane-based contract manufacturing and packaging company National ProPack, bringing it under the global TSI umbrella and providing TSI with expanded manufacturing capacities.

The acquisition includes National ProPack’s manufacturing facility in Brisbane, which will allow TSI to manufacture liquids and creams in topical format for therapeutic products and industrial applications in a wide variety of jars, tubes and bottles.

The managing director of TSI Pharmaceuticals, Ian Chant, said the acquisition will strengthen TSI Pharmaceuticals' product offerings, particularly related to the production of its locally made liquids and creams.

TSI Pharmaceuticals was established as NPD (New Products Development) in 1988 in Brisbane, and has grown to supply and package an extensive range of non-scheduled, complementary, listed and registered pharmaceutical products.

In 2011 NPD formed a strategic partnership with TSI Health Sciences, a global researcher, developer and manufacturer of ingredients and finished products.

NPD changed its name to TSI Pharmaceuticals in July 2012, to align more closely with its parent company.

Chant said that as part of the TSI Group, National ProPack will gain access to worldwide innovation, economic purchasing and the vertical integration of closely controlled raw material manufacturers.
