Nestlé's Ski yoghurt varieties will abandon their traditional colour branding and turn pink in a nod to Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

As part of its recent commitment to breast cancer awareness organisation, the McGrath Foundation, the company will give packaging to its 1kg tubs of Ski D'Lite, Divine and Soleil brands a pink makeover to help fund community-based breast cancer projects.

As part of its three-year commitment to the McGrath Foundation, Nestlé has pledged to donate $350,000 to help ‘build a nurse from yoghurt’ by funding a McGrath Breast Care Nurse in the local community.

The company said it expects to sell 3.5 million pink packs of Ski yoghurt in October.

McGrath Foundation chief executive, Kylea Tink, said the appointment of such a nurse would be particularly beneficial for remote and rural communities.

“It’s a beautiful synergy – farming communities helping to provide Ski to supermarkets and consumers giving back to the communities that need it most if ever they require the support of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse,” she said.

The pink packs will hit shelves at major supermarkets, including Woolworths, Coles and IGA stores, from 9 September.
