Rockwell Automation has won in 23 product categories of Control Design’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

The awards are based on the recommendations of machine builders and system integrator subscribers with buying influence or buying authority for industrial automation and control products, and there are about 60 hardware and software categories listed.

Participants are asked to name the companies that provide them the best technology value for products before rating the service and support they receive from them.

Rockwell Automation's South Pacific commercial marketing manager Matthew Treeby says the company's goal is to help make its customers more productive.

“This is the reason we constantly innovate our products to support our customers’ applications and production efficiency,” he said.

“These awards are an important indicator that we're on the right track.”

In addition to the product category awards, Rockwell Automation received top-rating service scores in the Machine Safety Components, Operator Interface Terminals and PLC Programming Software categories. The company also received recognition for service and support in 31 product categories.

Cisco IoE partner ecosystem manager Martin Janse van Rensburg said manufacturing companies needed to become more responsive to changing market and operational conditions without sacrificing efficiency.

“This has created urgency for manufacturers to converge and connect the multitude of isolated production systems and processes throughout their entire value chain,” he said.

“To do this they need seamless, secure connectivity across the enterprise, and this is where the Rockwell Automation and Cisco alliance is succeeding.”

Rockwell Automation and Cisco help manufacturers improve business performance by bridging the technical and cultural gaps between plant-floor and higher-level information systems.

“Through collaboration on products, services and educational resources, we help manufacturers and machine builders converge and simplify their network architecture and tightly integrate technical and business systems,” said Janse van Rensburg.

In addition to the Remote Machine Access category, Cisco was also awarded first place for products in categories of Industrial Network Router/Switch; Software, Network Management and the Industrial Network Components-Wireless category.
