Sydney's Rapid Machinery Company, a manufacturer of Memjet-powered narrow web digital label printing systems, is starting to reap the benefits of a busy trade show schedule in the United Kingdom and Europe, with the company announcing one of its Rapid X label presses is now in transit to a European customer.
The sale, through its European master distributor Impression Technology Europe (ITE), follows on the successful demonstration of the company's technology at the FESPA 2013 trade show in June in London.
The Rapid X equipment will also be on display at Label Expo in Brussels in September, Packaging Innovations in London in October and Ipex, also in London, in March next year.
The company's Rapid X1 and X2 digital label presses use Australian-developed, US-owned Memjet inkjet technology that delivers ultra-fine droplets of ink. The Memjet inks are water-based and ecologically friendly and safe for use on food, beverage and pharmaceutical packaging.
“ITE has exhibited Rapid X label presses at several major trade shows since Ipex 2010 and every time, people are amazed at the quality and productivity from such small footprint label equipment. FESPA was no exception,” ITE's managing director, Roy Burton, said.
He said he was now delighted to follow-up the show by taking a full Rapid X system to one of its mainland Europe clients.
Rapid director, Nick Mansell, said the success in Europe has followed a period of expansion into a number global markets by the company.
“Our global distribution is growing and we have now established Rapid Asia in Hong Kong to service the demand from this region,” Mansell said.
“We already have distributors in Japan and Korea and our partners Impression Technology Americas are taking on the North American market.
“From a standing start in 2010, we have now shipped just over 200 machines.”
