Sydney-based design agency Fresco Creative worked with the Arcadian Meat Co (AMC) to create a fun, illustrative style for the packaging of Cleaver’s new paleo sausages.

The AMC manages sub-brands which are sold in Coles, Woolworths, Thomas Dux, About Life and David Jones, and one of these brands is Cleaver’s Organic.

Fresco Creative designer Angela McDougall said the range needed to cater for consumers interested in paleo eating or gluten-free dinner options.

"We created a caveman character constructed with a line style that echoed the logo," she said.

"The Cleaver’s brand has a casual and crafty tone with its use of brown paper and white thread along the inside of the header banner."

Celebrity chef and paleo proponent Pete Evans partnered with Cleaver's for the sausage launch, promoting the use of organic beef in the product. The sausages exclude soy, grain and other fillers as well as preservatives, and contain organic carrot, onion, and other seasonings, wrapped up in a hog casing.
