PacPrint 2013 next month in Melbourne will feature the first public debut of the final version of the Truepress JetL350UV narrow web press, developed by printing specialist Screen, part of Japan's Dainippon group, and to be marketed in Australia by Jet Technologies.

Jet also collaborated with Screen on the development of the press, which was shown in a prototype form at last year's Drupa printing trade show in Germany ahead of its refinement in time for full market introduction at PacPrint.

Screen said the machine was a testament to its growing partnership with Jet, which began four years ago with the marketing of Screen’s range of devices for the packaging and narrow web markets.

Screen Australia managing director, Peter Scott, said this relationship had deepened in recent years, and Jet had played a major role in the development of the new web press, bringing its narrow web and packaging field experience to the table.

Jet Technologies director, Jack Malki, said the company had also benefitted from tapping Screen's expertise and experience.

“As Screen’s channel partner for Australia and New Zealand, we add a lot of expertise in narrow web, packaging and carton markets,” he said.

“At the same time we have Screen’s field technicians and a wealth of knowledge from its global staff at our disposal.“

Malki said that while the new press's specifications place it at the top level of currently available digital label presses, its highly versatile 350mm web width ensured it could provide outstanding performance and cost efficiencies for label, carton and packaging printers.

Jet Technologies and Screen will be located on adjoining stands at PacPrint and the new press will be featured on Stand No. 1638.

Malki said Jet would also be presenting a range of innovative technologies for rotary screen printing and updated lamination equipment.

PacPrint takes place from 21-25 May at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
