Packaging label printers will find plenty to interest them at this month's PrintEx15 exhibition, running from 13-15 May at Sydney Olympic Park.

MIS, workflow and management software will be a highlight, with companies such as Hexicom focusing on ePrint – a system which simplifies and automates the entire workflow.

Quote & Print has just rewritten and upgraded its cloud-based PrintERP software and has modules to suit a wide range of businesses including sheetfed, digital, continuous and packaging, Esko Graphics’ focus will be on showing how reducing time-to-market and raising productivity can drive profitability in the packaging and printing supply chain, and PentNet will show a new variable data module and online jobs board for its suite of products, which connect with the leading MIS systems.

They will be joined by others like Optimus, EFI, Accura, DES, Workflowz, AGFA Graphics, PentNet, Tharstern Australia, Dolphin Worx, IQ Australia, Objectif Lune and Accura MIS, many of whom have specially tailored modules for this sector.

There will also be a comprehensive display of output devices and visitors will be able to view the comprehensive displays from market leaders such as Currie Group, Ricoh, Fuji-Xerox, Dainippon Screen, Konica Minolta, Canon, Hewlett Packard, Epson, Neopost, WRH Global (formerly Ferag) and AGFA Graphics.

Market leaders such as manroland and KBA will also be on hand, and digital print engines are expected to draw attention.

For specialists in the flexo, labels and packaging market, must-see stands include Rotary Engineering, who will be focusing on a number of its latest-model equipment in the Rotamag range, including the 250QR press, 520 QR flexo press line drive and 340 SPF digital finishing line with laminating and cold foil options, and the basic 340 slitter rewinder, and Dataform Paper Processing, who represent leading names including Hunkler, Bell + Howell, W+D and ATS.

The program will include sessions of interest to all businesses, on topics such as innovation, the challenges facing print, change and successful business transformation, as well as sector-specific forums on topics like 3D print, polymers, printed circuits and other ‘functional’ printed products, and the current issues in flexographic and label printing.
