This year's will be the sixth scholarship program by Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) and the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP). It will enable a packaging engineer to complete a Diploma in Packaging Technology to the value of over $9000.

The Diploma in Packaging Technology is an internationally recognised Level 5 foundation Degree qualification that will prepare students to take responsibility for packaging operations at any level through the supply chain. The qualification is comprehensive, and provides an opportunity to study the principles of packaging, packaging materials and packaging processes.

Nestlé will spin its waters and premium beverages business into a 50:50 joint venture with Platinum Equity, as the group reported a 31.4 per cent fall in first-half net profit. Its Asia, Oceania and Africa zone, which includes Australia and New Zealand, delivered the strongest growth of its three geographic regions.
