The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) has announced a new half-day training course called Introduction to Product Identification.

It will be held on Thursday 17 March in Scoresby, Victoria, and the speaker will be Mark Dingley, general manager of operations for Matthews Australasia.

The course will cover product identification requirements through the supply chain, including the technology needed to achieve compliance, as well as process improvements.

Dingley will discuss where product identification is heading, including trends such as serialisation and product identification technology for reducing waste and improving profitability.

The course will include some hands-on training on a wide range of identification and inspection equipment such as label print and apply and vision systems.

The course is suited to anyone in the packaging industry who wants to learn about product identification.

Attendees will include packaging technologists, designers, engineers, production and operations personnel.
