A solutions manager with Machinery Automation and Robotics (MAR), Simon Parker, has joined the board of directors of the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA).

Parker has worked with MAR for the past three years, where he has been responsible for the development and sales of total end-of-line automation solutions in the southern region.

He has been involved in the packaging industry for 12 years, working with a wide range of businesses to provide custom packaging and handling solutions to industry.

MAR, which won the best new product award at this year's AUSPACK PLUS show in Sydney for its singulator system, specialises in purpose-built packaging machinery and palletising lines as well as storage and retrieval systems and complete warehousing and logistics solutions.

Parker said he looked forward to the opportunity to work with other professionals to further contribute to the packaging industry on a wider scale.
