After 49 years of trading through local company JL Lennard, as of 1 August, packaging machinery giant Krones has 'opened doors' on its own business in Australia and New Zealand.

Krones said it considered itself fortunate to have had in JL Lennard "a trusted and dependable partner" to represent the group throughout the South Pacific.

"Under our 'Value Strategy' program, however, Krones intends to position itself closer to its customers, and operate a direct point of contact in order to more responsively exceed the required expectations and requirements of our customers," said David Boekeman, director of Krones Pacific.

Boekeman is MD of JL Lennard and will remain the executive director of Krones Pacific.

Boekemann told PKN that JL Lennard will continue to operate its packaging, food equipment and graphics division independently of Krones, but Krones will occupy office space in the same location.
