Wedderburn has formalised its commitment to the GS1 Alliance Partner Program, entering as an Associate Alliance Partner.

Pablo Dematteis, business manager at Wedderburn added, “Wedderburn has been providing barcoding solutions to our customers for over 30 years with the introduction of some of the first weigh labellers into the Australian market. These weigh labellers printed weight embedded barcodes to GS1 standards. To this date we continue to provide barcoding solutions to our customers covering all aspects of the supply chain and continue to use the GS1 numbering system.”

GS1 Australia currently serves 22 industry sectors and supports 17,000 members nationally.

The federal government has released the latest round of Industry Growth Program (IGP) recipients, alongside news that the program is going on indefinite hiatus following the 2026 Budget. Several food sector companies were awarded, including A-Culture Holding, Algenie, and VeraSys.

Asahi Group Holdings has appointed Nigel Parsons as CEO of Asahi Europe & International, taking over the role from Dragoș Constantinescu, who will depart at the end of June.

Integrated organic meat producer, Hewitt Foods, has entered into an agreement to acquire family-owned beef company, Nolan Meats, with the transaction expected to be completed in the second half of 2026.
