Coles is trialling a new in-home digital device called hiku, designed to improve the consumer shopping experience.

The compact device, currently being tested by 50 Coles Online customers, is an in-home solution allowing shoppers to create a digital shopping list at their convenience throughout the week.

The device recognises the customer’s voice to add items instantly to a digital shopping list, and it can also scan product barcodes.

At the click of a button items are added to the shopping list in the customer’s Coles app and, if they choose, transferred into their Coles Online shopping trolley.

Customer research and trials will see the ongoing development of new products that benefit shoppers.
