UPM Adhesive Materials – formerly UPM Raflatac – will return to Labelexpo Asia 2025 in Shanghai from 2–5 December with a strong focus on how its latest adhesive technologies and label material innovations can help printers and converters elevate performance in an increasingly demanding market.

With label converters under pressure to achieve higher application reliability, meet evolving regulations, and deliver consistent quality across challenging substrates and conditions, UPM says the choice of adhesive is becoming more critical than ever.

UPM says that application specific demands, challenging substrates and conditions, as well as regulatory requirements must all be carefully considered in adhesive formulation and development.

The company will have a wide range of adhesive solutions on display on stand E3 L12, including specialised solutions designed to meet the demanding requirements of high-speed labelling, high-temperature resistance, and cryogenic environments.

Beyond adhesives, UPM will present its comprehensive label product portfolio at the stand, such as the UPM Intercoat, a newly launched value label material line which UPM says "balances critical customer needs in bulk with cost efficiency". The new label material line also enhances supply chain reliability and ease of doing business.

Advanced, high-performance solutions will also be showcased at the event under the premium label material line UPM Raflatac. The products on display will also demonstrate sustainability by design, with solutions that advance decarbonisation and circularity.

Company representatives will be on hand to discuss UPM’s services, technical support capabilities, and opportunities for co-innovation.

Visitors should stop by stand E3 L12 to find out more and attend in-depth presentations scheduled for:

  • December 2, 1pm, with topics on premium adhesive expertise, and effortless and reliable service.
  • December 3, 2pm, with topics on UPM Intercoat, sustainability by design, premium performance for every end use.

Food & Drink Business

Yarra Valley-based non-alcoholic distillery, Banks Botanicals, has been acquired by Alchemy Distillers – aiming to support the brand in its next stage of expansion and innovation.

Pure Foods Tasmania (PFT) has acquired premium ice cream brand, Elato, as it looks to restructure its frozen desserts portfolio and establish a new multi-brand ice cream division.

Australia’s food system is under pressure. Climate disruption, rising costs and growing demand for transparency are creating complex challenges for farmers, food businesses and communities. A new report from Food Connect Foundation argues that the solution lies in rebuilding the “missing middle” of food infrastructure, and offers a strategy for how communities, industry and investors can do exactly that.
