A sticker which extends the value of promotional campaigns is now available for packaging applications.

Called Open Monitor, the nanotechnology label is already being in the lottery sector as it offers a time-delayed release of information relating to win codes and advertising messages.

The sticker is tamper-proof and can be fixed on print media or directly integrated in product packaging, creating customer loyalty and awareness of the brand.

Customers can activate the sticker by tearing off or folding over a flap which begins the process of lateral self-oxidation. This opens the aluminum window, which is the top layer.

The label was reportedly made in Germany by a research and development team at the University in Münster, a print and production team in Speicher, and a marketing and sales team in Longuich.

PolyTaksys is responsible for the sticker, and its print and production team can currently manufacture print runs of up to 100,000 in a short period of time.

Through improvements in machinery, the print volume will increase up to one million monitors on a monthly basis by September 2017, according to PolyTaksys.
