The Oclean AirPump A10 Portable Water Flosser, winner of an iF Design Award 2025, makes a strong case for ditching single-use dental floss in favour of a reusable, travel-friendly alternative that doesn't compromise on performance or sustainability.

Designed with portability in mind, the A10 weighs just 135g and fits easily in a bag or even a pocket, offering users the convenience of on-the-go oral care without relying on wasteful plastic floss picks or traditional single-use string. With three flossing modes and two nozzle options – including one suited to orthodontics – the device caters to a range of dental needs. Its patented AirPump technology uses a mix of air and water to deliver a gentle, effective clean that’s kinder on gums, all while supporting long-term oral hygiene.

From a packaging standpoint (see more images in gallery above), Oclean has gone beyond product design to deliver a sustainable unboxing experience. The flosser comes housed in a fibre-based box with smooth, moulded compartments that securely cradle the unit. Instructions for use and recycling guidelines are printed clearly on the pack itself, removing the need for excess inserts. A well-executed tear strip adds a tactile satisfaction to opening the box, reinforcing the thoughtful, user-first design approach.

By replacing disposable floss products with a rechargeable device that lasts up to 40 days on a single charge, the A10 supports both environmental responsibility and good oral health – earning its place on shelves and in suitcases alike.

With almost 11,000 entries from 66 countries, the iF DESIGN AWARD 2025 is one of the most prestigious design competitions. This year 131 jurors from 23 countries adhered to strict selection criteria and praised the overall high quality of all entries whilst emphasising the growing focus on sustainability.
