Sydney will host the inaugural Sustainability in Food-Tech Summit 2025 this October, an event set to tackle some of the biggest sustainability challenges facing Australia’s food and beverage manufacturing sector.

The two-day summit (14-15 October) is billed as the country’s "only dedicated business conference focusing exclusively on practical sustainability solutions for the industry". Themes on the agenda include low-carbon operations, waste reduction, energy efficiency, sustainable packaging, eco-labelling and climate reporting.

Line-up of industry leaders

At the time of publishing, close to 30 speakers have been confirmed, with keynotes, technical sessions and panel discussions led by sustainability and operations specialists from major food and beverage companies, energy providers and advisory firms. Among them are:

According to event organisers, the program is designed to share strategies, technologies and processes already being applied by large manufacturers to meet sustainability targets alongside commercial goals.

Program focus areas

The agenda spans Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions management, energy-efficient plant and equipment, packaging innovation, waste recovery, AI for operational efficiency and green finance for capital projects. Guidance will also be provided on implementation of AASB s2 reporting standards.

In addition to the conference sessions, a supplier showcase will highlight emerging technologies and solutions to improve efficiency, cut emissions and strengthen compliance across the sector.

Event details

The Sustainability in Food-Tech Summit 2025 is aimed at sustainability managers, operations and procurement leaders, compliance specialists and the suppliers and service providers that support them.
