Tray sealing equipment specialist Proseal has expanded its portfolio to include high speed, fully automatic, case  packing machines, and in partnership with sister company AutoCoding Solutions (ACS), is now able to offer customers a complete end-of-line packing solution.

The patent pending Proseal CP3 case packing machine can handle a wide variety of pack formats, including, but not limited to, trays, pots, sandwich packs, bags, bottles and cans, in materials such as A-PET, C-PET and board.

According to Proseal, key to the CP3’s performance is the company's proven ProMotion tray infeed system. This maximises throughput by using following motion and intelligent buffering technology to effectively control the flow of trays, enabling them to feed continuously in the case packer without stopping.

Auto tool technology enables fast and easy format changes, while Quick Release (QR) conveyors allow swift removal and replacement to speed up and simplify cleaning and maintenance.

The new case packer features the same high levels of construction and durability as Proseal’s market-leading tray sealers and incorporates many of their advanced features, the company says. These include the ProTect user login and audit trail security system, which provides different levels of authorisation access for individual personnel, and full compatibility with the ProVision OEE and downtime analyser that delivers a comprehensive real time view of machine performance. Set up and daily operation are simplified thanks to the user-friendly menu-driven control panel with step-by-step prompts, error and status displays, and batch pack counter.

Options include additional crate fill and increased length of buffering conveyor for higher speeds. Crate delivery and discharge conveyors can be bespoke designed to individual factory layouts and the CP3 can be fully integrated with complementary equipment such as case erectors, existing create delivery systems, labellers and coders.

CONTROL  & MONITORING

Equally important, the availability of ACS’ modular software packages enables all packing operations from sealing, coding and inspection of the primary pack to case packing, and labelling and final pallet labelling to be centrally monitored and controlled.

As well as minimising coding and packaging errors and helping to improve overall efficiency, it also provides a variety of value-added benefits such as data capture and inspection reporting for line performance assessment and compliance requirements.

The automated solution also replaces manual paper-based systems to minimise the risk of errors and ensure full visibility and traceability of customers’ orders – from initial placement, through manufacture and packing, to onward dispatch.

This combination of Proseal’s and ACS’ technologies enables the companies to devise bespoke solutions that meet the specific requirements of individual customers, and deliver enhanced quality and efficiency throughout their production and packing operations.

“Customers are increasingly looking for single-source solutions,” said Tony Burgess, sales director of Proseal.

“Our case packing machinery and ancillary equipment offer the same reliability, durable construction and high performance of our tray sealing machines, coupled with the many advanced features of the ACS software, provides an unbeatable combination to help companies maximise the effectiveness of their end-of-line packing operations.”
