Jet Technologies opened the doors to its new Melbourne office in Carrum Downs, to offer specialist coffee roasters from across Australia the opportunity to see up close for themselves the advanced capabilities of the Goglio G21 coffee packaging system.

The demonstration day follows strong demand for Goglio machinery, with coffee roasters such as Campos, Seven Miles, Gabriel Coffee, Coffee Galleria, Giuseppe Brothers and Little Marionette all having recently invested in machinery through Jet Technologies.

“As we have transitioned out of the restrictions and lockdowns of the pandemic, coffee roasters across Australia have experienced strong growth in demand for their coffee product,” said Daniel Malki, director of Jet Technologies. “This has led to many roasters assessing how they can best keep up with increasing demand today and in the future, and for many this means looking to capital investments that help to automate and speed up their packaging processes.”

Best suited to coffee roasters producing 1.5 tonnes or more of coffee per week, Jet says the Goglio G21 machine helps to reduce labour costs and improve productivity rates. Packaging is made to order with the G21, which Jet says reduces the cost of coffee packaging to half that of premade coffee bags. According to Jet the machine is also accurate, with two-option dosing, avoiding the under or over-filling of bags.

“We were thrilled to be able to host some of Australia’s leading coffee roasters at our new Melbourne office,” continued Malki. “Demonstrating the high level of interest in the Goglio G21, we had a full day’s schedule of visits from roasteries based out of Melbourne, regional Victoria and even Sydney, who came along for a private demonstration of the ins and outs of the machinery, and discussion of how it might benefit their business.”

Key features of the Goglio G21:

Dosing accuracy of 1 standard deviation = 2 grams in 1kg wholebean format that minimises coffee give away.

Capable of packing 20-22 x 1kg coffee bags per minute in whole bean coffee format, with other models capable of reaching speeds up to 80 bags per minute.

Block bottom bag style capability.

Fast changeovers and ability to work with newer sustainable laminates.

Gas flushing, in-line valve insertion and batch coding – as standard.

As a leader in the coffee packaging space, Jet Technologies has a long-standing partnership with Goglio, a vertical form fill & seal machine brand focused on the coffee market.

Food & Drink Business

Two of Australia’s peak business bodies have welcomed the federal government’s response to its Strategic Examination of Research and Development (SERD), but the Australian Industry Group (AiGroup) has raised sharp objections to a proposal it says will actively reduce the business R&D investment the report itself identifies as critically low.

A sweeping government review of Australia’s research and development system has recommended significant changes to tax incentives, manufacturing support and R&D funding to reshape how companies invest in innovation.

Food redistribution platform, Yume Food Australia, has been acquired by Procurement Australia, after the company went into liquidation last November. The technology will now be re-established and operated under Procurement Australia’s ownership.
