Filton Packaging has reached two significant milestones that signal what it describes as a “new era of innovation and excellence” for the business.

The company has completed the installation of a brand-new Bobst flexographic printing press at its Dandenong South facility – a major investment aimed at boosting production capabilities and print quality.

According to Bobst, the press represents the latest in flexographic technology, offering enhanced print precision, faster turnaround times, and improved operational efficiency. For Filton, the installation underscores its focus on delivering premium packaging solutions that meet the evolving needs of its customer base.

“The new Bobst press allows us to deliver exceptional print results,” said Ryan Worthington, CEO of Filton Packaging. “It’s part of our broader strategy to invest in innovation and elevate the quality we provide across the board.”

Adding to its progress on the production front, Filton has also achieved FSSC 22000 certification – a globally recognised standard for food safety management systems. The certification reinforces the company’s commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety and quality throughout its operations, particularly in the food packaging sector.

“These developments reflect our strategic focus on innovation and quality,” Worthington said. “Our FSSC 22000 certification assures our customers that we meet the highest global standards for food safety. We’re proud of what our team has accomplished and excited for what’s ahead.”

With this dual achievement, Filton Packaging says it will continue to strengthen its position in the Australian packaging market – combining cutting-edge technology with globally benchmarked quality systems to deliver reliable, high-performance packaging solutions.

Food & Drink Business

As consumers lean towards functional food and beverages, the sports and energy drink market is leading the charge. Market research company, IMARC Group, has released its Australia Sports and Energy Drinks Market report for 2024, outlining current trends and expected growth over the next decade.

The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) ANZ Produce Executive Program (PEP), a leadership and business development program for the fresh produce industry, will make its New Zealand debut from 17-22 August.

Thomas Foods International has moved from two shifts to one extended single shift at its Lobethal processing facility, due to drought and lower livestock supply. The company said it was a “difficult but necessary decision”, given current market conditions.
