Rhima Australia has supplied washer disinfectors and cleaning equipment for the new Footscray Hospital in Melbourne, which opened to patients in February 2026.

The company worked with Multiplex and Smooth Hospital Move on the project, providing equipment designed for infection control across the facility.

According to Rhima Australia, the installation includes 47 Deko 190IX units for ward-based disinfection, 17 built-in DVS+ machines, and three utensil washers for heavy-duty cleaning.

The company says the washer disinfectors are designed to reduce manual handling and support hygiene processes for hospital staff.

Rhima Australia also conducted training for Western Health staff ahead of the hospital opening. In August 2025, Andy Kinsey and David Murray delivered “train the trainer” workshops on site, giving educators and nurses practical experience using the Deko 190IX units and DVS+ machines.

“These sessions allowed educators and nurses from Western Health to get practical experience with the Deko 190IX units and DVS+ machines,” the company said.

Rhima Australia said the training aimed to help staff become familiar with the systems in their working environment before the hospital began operations.

The New Footscray Hospital is operated by Western Health and forms part of a broader redevelopment of health services in Melbourne’s west.
