Heat and Control will introduce the CEIA THS/210-MBH9 metal detector to the Australian market at foodpro 2026, marking the system's local trade show debut.
Designed for wet and hygiene-critical food production environments, the detector is intended to help processors strengthen contaminant detection while meeting stringent sanitation requirements. The company says it is suited to applications including meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, ready meals and plant-based proteins.
At the core of the system is CEIA's multi-spectrum detection technology, which is designed to compensate automatically for product characteristics such as moisture, salt content, temperature and density. According to the company, this enables high detection sensitivity while reducing false rejects, product waste and unnecessary production interruptions.
The THS/210-MBH9 features an IP69K-rated hygienic design with AISI 316L stainless steel construction and FDA-compliant materials, allowing it to withstand intensive washdown procedures commonly required in food manufacturing.
A newly developed rugged touchscreen interface has also been engineered specifically for harsh washdown environments. Heat and Control says the interface simplifies start-up, product changeovers and access to inspection settings, improving ease of operation in demanding production conditions.
The system also incorporates an Auto-QC function that automatically verifies detector performance by simulating the passage of ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel test pieces through the detector aperture. The company says this allows routine performance checks to be completed without interrupting production or requiring manual test passes, reducing downtime and simplifying quality assurance procedures.
Additional detection modes enable the detector to be configured for wet products, dry products and products packaged in metallised materials, while integrated connectivity features support production monitoring and management.
Heat and Control, the exclusive Australian supplier of CEIA inspection equipment, will exhibit the THS/210-MBH9 at foodpro 2026, taking place from 26–29 July in Melbourne, on stand R8.
