Eriez has released the PrecisionGuard X8 metal detector, designed for contaminant detection in food, packaging, plastics and other light industrial applications.

The X8 is available in a range of configurations including tunnel, tunnel with conveyor, liquid line, vertical drop, vertical form fill seal (VFFS), pharmaceutical and webline models, and can be integrated into both new and existing production lines. The system is built from stainless steel and carries an IP69 washdown rating.

According to the company, the X8’s touchscreen interface provides access to operating functions, while auto-learning software adapts to new products.

Connectivity options include USB, Ethernet and optional Wi-Fi, allowing access to event and reject logs. Eriez says these features support compliance with HACCP, GFSI, SQF, FSMA and other global safety standards, while creating audit trails and reducing false rejects.

Ray Spurgeon, business development manager for light industry at Eriez-USA, said, “The X8 metal detector delivers the performance and reliability our customers count on, now with advanced features that make operation faster and smarter. It safeguards product quality and keeps production running at peak efficiency.”

Founded in 1942 and headquartered in Erie, Pennsylvania, Eriez operates through 12 international subsidiaries and supplies industries including food, recycling, packaging, mining and aggregates.
