AxFlow Oceania, part of AxFlow Group, has acquired Matrix Process Solutions (MPS), a specialist in hygienic flow process systems for the food, beverage, dairy, brewery, and pharmaceutical industries.

Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Melbourne, with sites in Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide, MPS has established itself as a trusted provider of end-to-end process solutions – from system design and engineering through to construction, commissioning, training, and ongoing maintenance.

The acquisition strengthens AxFlow’s position in Oceania by adding comprehensive project execution capabilities to its established offering.

“This acquisition represents a natural extension of what AxFlow has been doing in Europe for decades – designing, building, and commissioning hygienic fluid handling systems that meet the highest standards,” said Ole Weiner, CEO, AxFlow Group.

“By adding MPS’s strong local engineering and fabrication capabilities, we are creating a platform for growth in Australia’s food and beverage sector and beyond.”

MPS’s expertise in engineering, fabrication, and turnkey project delivery mirrors AxFlow’s decades of experience in Europe, where the Group has successfully delivered large-scale fluid handling projects across multiple industries.

By joining forces, AxFlow and MPS can now provide customers in Australia with the same full-scope project support that has been central to AxFlow’s success in Europe.

“Partnering with AxFlow provides MPS customers with exciting new opportunities,” said Andrew Raine, chairman and managing director of Matrix Process Solutions.

“By combining our deep sector expertise with AxFlow’s global resources and technical know-how, we can expand our offering and continue to deliver high-quality solutions.”

Together, the combined teams will be able to deliver hygienic fluid handling systems that meet stringent hygiene, safety, and efficiency standards – from feasibility studies and design to installation and commissioning, and long-term service support.

“MPS’s strong presence across four states positions us closer to customers in Australia’s Food & Beverage heartlands. Together, we will enhance service capabilities and deliver larger projects with greater efficiency,” said Michael Briggs, managing director of AxFlow Oceania.

The acquisition also provides access to local engineering and fabrication expertise, backed by AxFlow’s global knowledge base; stronger project execution capacity, enabling delivery of larger and more complex hygienic systems; continued support across the full system lifecycle – from consultation and design to after-sales service; and enhanced national coverage through MPS’s presence in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, and SA.
