Professionals from the packaging and processing machinery sector gathered on 21 October for a river cruise in Brisbane, and a night of networking and collegiate connection.
The group of some 60 APPMA members and business partners, were welcomed by chair Robert Marguccio, who gave an update on association activities and signalled a successful APPEX 2027 in the offing, with the show already over 70 per cent sold 18 months out.
Marguccio also congratulated the directors who had been reelected to the APPMA Board: Peter Bradbury of ABB, Mark Emmett of HMPS, and Matt Nichol of Matthews Australasia.
The guests were also addressed by Robert Laing, Messe Dusseldorf representative, who shared some insights on the upcoming Interpack taking place from 7-13 May in 2026, set to be the highlight of the global packaging industry's calendar next year. Laing noted that next year's show will centre on the three pillars of smart manufacturing, innovative materials, and future skills. The organisers expect 2800 exhibitors from 60 countries, and visitor numbers as high as 142,000.
