Tetra Pak has appointed Michael Wu as managing director of its Oceania business, with responsibility for the company’s operations across Australia and New Zealand.
Wu took up the role on 1 September, bringing 18 years of experience across Tetra Pak’s global operations.
He moves to Oceania from his most recent position as market operations quality and sustainability director. Previously, Wu was managing director of Tetra Pak’s business across Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia.
His career with the food processing and packaging solutions company has also included roles as vice-president commercial and cluster leader for Greater China, and director of supply chain integration. He has worked across China, Canada and Southeast Asia.
In his new role, Wu will lead Tetra Pak’s Australian and New Zealand operations, supporting food and beverage manufacturers with packaging and processing technologies. His priorities will include helping customers improve food safety, reduce the environmental impact of their operations and strengthen food systems.
“Australia and New Zealand are home to a dynamic and innovative food industry, and I am excited to be joining such a strong team,” Wu said.
“Our customers are navigating changing consumer expectations, evolving technologies and a growing focus on sustainability, while continuing to deliver safe, nutritious food and beverages to communities every day.
“Tetra Pak is well positioned to support them through innovation, deep industry expertise and a commitment to helping build more resilient and sustainable food systems.”
Wu said he looked forward to working with Tetra Pak’s customers, partners and employees to identify growth opportunities across the Oceania market.
Tetra Pak provides food processing and packaging solutions in more than 160 countries and employs more than 24,000 people worldwide.
