With one week to go, the Print21+PKN LIVE event, which will see brands, designers and printers come together to understand opportunities in digitally printed packaging, has now firmed up the panel that will conclude the afternoon discussions.

The panel will discuss challenges and opportunities in digital printed packaging. It includes a quartet of leaders at the forefront of the fast-developing market, with Paul Haggett from Opal, Joe Foster from Close the Loop Group, Zaidee Jackson from Ball & Doggett, and Paul Sanelli from EFI all taking part.

Lindy Hughson, publisher of Print21 and PKN Packaging News, said, “We are fortunate to be able to draw on the expertise of the leaders making up this panel. Paul Haggett has a background of 33 years in printing, packaging and digital content production, and heads up sales and design operations for Opal Specialty Packaging in Victoria.

Joe Foster is CEO of Close the Loop Group, which includes O F Flexo, and Foster Packaging, an innovative digital print packaging business.

Zaidee Jackson is sustainability manager at the country’s largest supplier of printable materials, Ball & Doggett, which supplies, board, labelstock and flexibles, along with paper.

Paul Sanelli is business development manager for packaging and display at EFI, one of the world’s most innovative print technology developers.

Taking place next Wednesday 9 November at the State Library in Melbourne, the LIVE event – Amplify & Engage – runs from 12 noon to 5.30pm, followed by a drinks networking event, with a stellar line up of speakers from brands and print service providers sharing how digitally printed packaging can benefit brands.

Bega Group will shut its cheese processing and packaging plant in Strathmerton, Victoria, to consolidate operations at its Ridge Street factory in Bega. The decision impacts around 300 employees in Strathmerton and will create 100 jobs in Bega.

The Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC) chief operating officer, Colm Maguire, has been appointed CEO after acting in the role since mid-January when Tanya Barden stepped down.
